Chemical Treatment - wastewater

Chemical treatment is an aspect of the entire treatment of wastewater and is used in most wastewater treatment plants to increase effluent quality and ensure optimal living conditions for bacteria.

The selection of the chemical methods used depends on the effluent requirements and mainly includes chemical precipitation for the removal of phosphorous and for pH regulation. Other uses include adding an external carbon source, if availability of carbon is a limiting factor for the biological conversion of nitrate to nitrogen.

Because of the harsh nature of many of the chemicals used, a dosing station must be designed according to the specific chemicals. This is done with regard to the relevant safety procedures as well as to the design of chemical storage, dosing pumps, mixers and piping.

Grundfos has the specialist knowledge to do this and can tailor a dosing station utilising chemicals as concentrates, ready-to-use solutions or dry chemicals, according to your requirements, the relevant safety procedures, chemical storage, and your existing system.

Grundfos can supply the specialist expertise to help meet your performance objectives, from the initial identification of needs, to the selection, installation, operation, and maintenance of the pumping solution and dosing system. Grundfos commissioning agreements ensure correct installation and service agreements cover all eventualities, from routine maintenance to spare parts.
